Eräänä kauniina iltana...

Pyöräilyä laskevan auringon viimeisissä säteissä reitillä Porvoo-Hinthaara-Söderveckoski-Kulloo-Porvoo.

On vaikea tajuta edes monen vuoden jälkeen, miten paljon hienoja reittejä Porvoosta löytyy lähes heti kotioven ulkopuolella. Tässä yksi niistä. Noin 35 kilometriä.

Matkalla syntyi idea pyöräreittien kirjaamisesta pieneksi turistikartaksi Kaisan kuvittamana. Saako ajatus kannatusta?

Pyörämatkakausi on avattu!

Laurakin hymyilee

Sunnuntainen lenkki kulki Porvoosta Yliken kautta Epooseen ja sieltä takaisin Porvooseen lämpimän keiton äären!

At the speed of lightning

To test the resolve of the team, Christoffer rides his Vespa, pushing the cyclists to their limit. Pictured here Lina in the lead, with Kaisa closing in dangerously. A big thank you to House Industries, who supplied us with their exquisite jerseys!

Ps. For those interested: the Vespa is a Rally 200 from 1976.

The spring has come to Porvoo

Spring is finally here, and so the team can be spotted cruising the roads around Porvoo. This weekend we had beautiful weather (which in no way is a given when living in Finland…) and we made use this opportunity with pleasure.

Traffic was scarce and the roads in good shape. Something we wish to hold true even for Russia. (Yes, we are ever so optimistic!)

But what if we get a flat tyre?

Last Saturday we spent an afternoon with former pro cyclist and bike shop owner Kimmo Karhu in his workshop. Our team gathered there to learn the ins and outs of bike repair and proper maintenance, and under his expert supervision we tried to grasp how a bike really works.

So now we at least have a theoretical understanding of how to cope with the mechanical problems that may arise during a trip into the deep woods of Karelia.

Thank you Kimmo and Porvoon Pyöräkeskus!
